Downeast Maine offers phenomenal Rabbit hunting. This area has about the best Snowshoe Hare population in the state. I have hunted hares all my life and in many parts of Maine, but nothing can top Washington County for its fast action and consistent, year after year, hare populations. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t get any better.
Starting in Dec 2007 Eagle Mountain Guide Service will begin offering guided Snowshoe Hare hunts. If you have your own dogs and have never hunted this part of Maine, you owe it to yourself and your Beagles to give me a call. I guarantee you’ll come back year after year. If you don’t have your own dogs, we’ll hunt with mine. Either way, a day in the Downeast Maine woods chasing wabbits is an experience you’ve got to try.
You and your guide will stay at EMGS’s remote hunting camp located close to our rabbit covers. Once the deep snow is on the ground the camp is only accessible by snowmobile. So grab your snowshoes and shotguns the rabbits are plentiful and on the run. Come and enjoy an excellent winter adventure you won’t soon forget.
Rabbit season starts in early December and runs till the end of March. Call for availability.
