We operate from the remote wilderness of Downeast Maine in Hancock and Washington counties. We specialize in hunting and freshwater fishing trips including: Whitetail Deer, Bear over bait, Moose, Snowshoe Hare, Grouse & Woodcock hunts. We offer some of the best Freshwater fishing in the Northeast to include: Landlocked Salmon, Lake Trout and Smallmouth Bass. Guiding is all we do. It’s our passion, which led to our business. Maine is, and always has been a hot spot for hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts across the east and beyond. It is considered by many to be the Alaska of the lower 48 states and our hunting and fishing is un-matched short of going to Alaska.

This part of Maine is unique in that it has countless lakes and ponds offering the best Landlocked Salmon and Smallmouth Bass fishing in the state. West Grand Lake, located in the town of Grand Lake Stream, is our primary base of operation for fishing. Either trolling for Salmon and Lakers, casting for Bass towards the miles and miles of wilderness shoreline or fly-fishing the world famous Grand Lake Stream, Eastern Maine is unrivaled for fantastic fishing.

The woods of Downeast Maine are a mix of soft and hardwoods with many hardwood ridges, covered with beechnuts and acorns providing plenty of hard mast for deer, bear and grouse. Low lying spruce and cedar thickets offer great cover. Our Deer stands and blinds target buck corridors and travel ways to and from these covers to the food sources. A mature Maine Whitetail can reach 300lbs on the hoof and this part of Maine produces some of the largest racks in the state.

Downeast Maine in Washington County, offers some of the best Trophy Black Bear hunting available in the state of Maine. It is estimated by state biologists that there are 5 bear per square mile in the area that we hunt. Our success rate averages near 85%. EMGS has over 50 proven remote bait sites covering over 240 square miles of prime Bear habitat. Our average bear taken is 200+- lbs with a few each year taken or sighted close to the 400 lb mark! Hunts are limited to no more than 12 hunters per week, insuring that you are not just a number. Individual attention is important to us.

The habitat here is perfect for Moose populations. Maine’s logging operations provide an ample food source for these majestic animals. As with the deer, eastern Maine produces some of the biggest racks in the state. Many 60” plus racks come from this part of the state. Our moose hunts cover zones 18, 19, and 28. If you are fortunate enough to draw once in a lifetime Maine Moose permit and are picked for one of these zones, don’t miss your opportunity to score a big bull with us.
